On June 27, 2018, Howard Schulberg combined his insights as a trial attorney and mediator, and presented a CLE program based on what is recognized as the trend in the field of litigation: With the ever-increasing cost associated with trial preparation and the concomitant time involved in getting those cases to trial, there are far fewer cases actually being tried today and many clients prefer the prospect of settlements reached at mediation.
In the past, the primary presentation of a case took place inside of a courtroom, in front of a jury. But now, more often than not the only real chance to present one’s case is actually at mediation. Recognizing that this may be the only chance to present the best case for their client Mr. Schulberg suggests taking full advantage of the opportunity and use all the tools available?
Joined by AJ Simeone of Network Deposition Services, the presentation demonstrated a series of relatively inexpensive applications and available software options that are also very user-friendly while offering significant impact when presenting a case at mediation. The specific technology, tips, techniques and strategies for each of the apps was designed for a broad range of experiences, from attorneys seeking an overview of the technology to veterans looking to keep up with the latest trends and for personal injury matters to commercial litigation.
With the assistance of the Allegheny County Bar Association, attendees received CLE credit and were invited to a happy hour reception to continue the conversation in a more relaxed setting.
