As a school and municipal solicitor, Kate has a broad experience in a variety of issues that arise for the firm’s municipal and public sector clients. She assists municipal and school clients on the everyday issues that they face, as well as more complex matters such as labor and employment, compliance, and land use issues. Well-versed and experienced in running public meetings and hearings, she ensures compliance with the Sunshine Law and local meeting protocol. Also comfortable in a courtroom, she has successfully argued cases in front of local magistrates, the Court of Common Pleas, and at Commonwealth Court.
Kate serves as solicitor to Collier Township, the boroughs of Bradford Woods, Conway, Green Tree and Oakmont, as well as the Western Allegheny Municipal Authority and the Allegheny Valley Joint Sewage Authority. She also serves as Special Counsel to the City of Aliquippa's planning commission.
She is well-known and respected throughout the region as an active presenter at statewide conferences, meetings and webinars.
In addition to her active role as solicitor, she also works with the firm’s Municipal Tax & Creditors' Rights Group to ensure the fair and efficient collection of municipal taxes.
