Jake is a member of the Litigation Group, practicing within a broad range of civil litigation with particular concentration on employment cases.  In this area, Jake’s focus has been on contract interpretation, trade secret and restrictive covenant disputes, and wrongful termination cases.  Jake also handles civil rights claims, both in the employment context and otherwise.


 

Additionally, Jake has worked in defense of his clients’ rights in toxic tort exposure and has experience representing clients in food-borne illness defense cases as well. Jake conducts general personal injury defense work, and has considerable experience in the defense of claims related to general accidents and defective products. 


 

Prior to joining the firm, Jake, an associate at GRB, worked as a managing editor for a national magazine and later as a vice president of sales and marketing in a prominent southern California computer firm.  Jake earned his undergraduate degree, a B.A. in English, from Lewis and Clark College. He continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where he graduated cum laude in 2005. While earning his Juris Doctorate, Jake served on the Journal of Technology, Law & Policy.


 

Jake is a member of the Allegheny County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in all state courts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
