The Sunshine and Right-to-Know Law are both intended to keep the public appropriately informed. This information not only includes obtaining public records by way of the Right-to-Know Law, but also the ability to attend open public meetings. It is important for a municipal agency to have experienced, legal representation to ensure that the letters and spirit of these laws are met, while protecting the legal position of the public body.
GRB’s extensive representation of public bodies requires attorneys with a commanding knowledge of Sunshine and Right-to-Know Law issues. We are consulted on matters ranging from individual requests for records to critiquing proposal legislative changes in these laws.
Not only are our municipal attorneys current in practicing and guiding on these laws, but we have presented training seminars statewide for local officials to be in compliance with Pennsylvania's new Right-to-Know Law, in effect January 1, 2009.
