Latest GRB News Mandi L. Scott speaks at National Business Institute's Complying with Land Use Laws and Regulations seminar
On December 10, 2009, Mandi spoke at the National Business Institute’s “Complying with Land Use Laws and Regulations” seminar.
The presentation, “Understanding the Law of Nonconforming Uses,” will discuss how to identify and handle nonconforming uses, defining the meaning of “grandfathered” and what constitutes a “change of use.” It will also discuss such aspects as how to distinguish a nonconforming lot or structure, how to apply ordinances, particularly local ordinances, eliminating nonconforming lots and what happens when structures become abandoned.
While Mandi has developed a distinct niche in the area of appellate practice, she is also experienced in areas of civil litigation, including orphans court litigation and oil and gas disputes. She also represents public schools and municipalities in various operational matters, as well as land developers in zoning and land development disputes.
