Bob, a Shareholder and Director of Goehring, Rutter & Boehm, leads our Business Law and Estate Planning and Administration Groups.
Bob handles all aspects of estate and gift tax planning and preparation of estate planning documents, including wills, revocable living trusts, insurance trusts, personal residence trusts, generation-skipping trusts, split ownership trusts, charitable trusts and family limited partnerships. He also represents and advises individual and corporate trustees and personal representatives in administration of trusts and estates, including related tax planning and fiduciary income tax matters.
In addition to his estate work, Bob handles general corporate matters, principally involving closely held businesses, including formation and operation of regular corporations, S-corporations, general and limited partnerships, limited liability companies and business trusts, business succession planning, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and contracts.
Bob is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, including memberships in its Real Property, Probate and Trust Law, Elder Law, Business Law and Tax Law Sections. He is also a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, expanding his involvement with the Probate and Trust Law Section, Taxation Section and Business Section. In addition, he is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Pittsburgh, the National Lawyers Association and on the Board of Directors for Washington County Mission.
Bob earned his B.A. in 1975, with magna cum laude honors, from the University of Pittsburgh and his J.D. in 1978 from the University of Pennsylvania.
Bob is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, Superior Court of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania and all subordinate courts, United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
