Emily joined the firm in the Summer of 2010 and has begun a practice within the firm’s School and Municipal Law Group.
Emily assists municipal clients with reviewing and responding to requests for public records pursuant to the Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law. Emily also has experience handling the appeal of a municipal denial of a Right-to-Know Law request to the Pennsylvania Office of Open Records.
Emily’s practice largely centers on assisting municipal clients with the collection of delinquent real estate taxes and other municipal claims. Additionally, Emily is developing a practice in the area of zoning, with a particular emphasis on the Pennsylvania Oil and Gas Act as it relates to municipal authority to regulate oil and gas drilling.
Emily recently co-authored an article for the Legal Intelligencer discussing the impact of the Pennsylvania Oil and Gas Act on local regulation.
Earning her Juris Doctorate in 2010, Emily graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Duquesne University School of Law. Emily was also a member of the Duquesne Law Review and worked as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant for the Director of the school’s Legal Research and Writing Program. Emily completed her undergraduate education at Grove City College, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2007 and earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.
Emily is admitted to practice in all state courts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
