Wendy is a member of our Estate Planning and Administration Group. She specializes in all matters relating to planning and dealing with incapacity and death, including charitable planning and estate and trust documents.  She advises her clients in regard to probate and non-probate matters, beneficiary designations and planning to minimize income, gift, Federal estate and state inheritance tax.  She also advises decedent’s family members on estate administration procedures, including the preparation of death tax returns and the establishment of trusts.

Prior to her work as an estate attorney, Wendy worked as a trust administration officer at Mellon Bank. This experience greatly enhanced her understanding of estate planning and administration, providing her with a broadened viewpoint to accompany her legal practice.  She joined Goehring, Rutter & Boehm as a law student in 1992 and has continued her law career at the firm since that time.

She is a member of the Pennsylvania and Allegheny County Bar Associations and is a frequent lecturer on estate planning and administration topics.  She participates in the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Probate and Trust Law Section Council and is a former Director for the Estate Planning Council of Pittsburgh where she has been instrumental in helping with the Council’s annual Estate Planning Day.  She serves on the Board of Directors of the Allegheny-HYP Club and on the Professional Advisory Board of the Pittsburgh Foundation.

She participates in the ACBA's "Very Important Papers" project and often speaks to senior citizen groups. She also participates in KDKA's "KD and You and the Law," anonymously answering legal questions from the public, as well as the "Wills for Heroes" program to which she drafts wills and other estate planning documents for City of Pittsburgh first responders.

Wendy is currently a member of the Adult Handbell Choir of the Oakmont Presbyterian Church.  She is a past president of the Pittsburgh South Hills Delta Gamma Alumnae Chapter and remains active with her fellow alumnae.  She currently serves as the Chapter’s Chairperson for Charitable Donations.

Wendy graduated magna cum laude from Bucknell University in 1984 with a B.S. in Business Administration.  She was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa.  She continued her education seven years later at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she received cum laude status and earned her J.D. in 1994.  During this time, she was elected to Order of the Coif and the Order of Barristers.

Wendy is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
