During litigation, after the trial court proceedings are terminated, one or both parties may need to seek further review from one of Pennsylvania's appellate courts - the Commonwealth Court, Superior Court or Supreme Court. Pursuing an appeal is much different than trying a case and engaging the services of an attorney experienced in practicing before the appellate courts, such as those at Goehring Rutter & Boehm, can benefit you greatly. While, the majority of the appeal process consists of submitting briefs on the relevant issues and arguing the case to the court, there are many specific and mandatory procedures and rules that must be followed. Failure to follow these procedural rules may lead to an appeal being dismissed, further emphasizing the need to hire an experienced appellate attorney.
Because we have represented clients from the trial court level all the way up to the Pennsylvania and United States Supreme Courts, we are familiar with all aspects of both the state and federal appeal processes.
Our appellate attorneys have represented clients from every practice group within the firm. We not only represent current clients through the appeal process, but are also available to represent new clients who feel they need specialized representation when they reach the appellate level.
