School & Municipal Law Group:
ADA: Americans with Disabilities Act |
The ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) is a civil rights act that protects disabled individuals from discrimination in the workplace, whether it be within job application procedures, hiring, advancement, training, workers compensation or any other employment-related aspect. According to the ADA, “disabled” defines an individual that has a “physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity.”
Our attorneys understand the ADA regulations and case law. We have experience in analyzing the impairments and limitations presented to determine if they would qualify under the Act, and in guiding the employer in recognizing various duties, including accommodations so that disability lawsuits may be avoided.
